4 aspects to consider before buying a snowboard for cruising on east coast resorts
It is a tough mission to decide the best board to buy due too many variables that come with it. Brands, material, length, width, flexibility, type and of course cost benefit are the main variables you should consider or not. In this post I will help you understand the basic information you need to decide which one of the best for you, for that occasion.
First of all, let’s remove some of those variables and make
it easier mission to accomplish. It is a fact that brands matter the least for
this subject, all top brands 10 brands do a similar work when it comes to
snowboard for surfing down the mountain, another factor is that you would not
be smart to buy a “powder board”, because there is never a lot of fresh snow on
east coast mountains that justify you having one. Let’s jump straight to the 4 most
important aspects you have to consider.
1.
1 - Length
For cruising you should look for something I
little bigger taller. You are looking for something higher up to your chin.
Then, you have to know if you are more of a carver or a jump cruiser to really
decide. If you are the first type, go for a snowboard as tall as your nose,
with you like to hit some jumps along the way you are looking for a board that will
fit under your chin.
2 - Width
3.
3 - Flexibility
You will need a low flexibility board. I
would recommend a stiff or very stiff board and that is something that you have
to try yourself. Look for some resort that offer a “test board” so you can
decide.
4.
4 - Type
This is also a very personal aspect. It is just like asking how do you like your coffee. I like camber/rocker/camber. Totally camber is also very good, but honestly any other kind except flat on the extremities can be good. Just go straight to the mountain and try it out.
